One of the first people to pass through Pusher was Alexander Dunsmuir a coal magnate from British Columbia. He made the townspeople an offer - if they would change the name of their town to Dunsmuir he would give them a fountain. In January 1887 the town was moved one mile north and renamed Dunsmuir. Alexander never returned to Dunsmuir but he did send the fountain. (It can be seen today at the entrance to the City Park.) |
