Moccasin is part of the Hetch Hetchy power and water project that provides water and power to the City of San Francisco. Masssive water pipes bring water from the reservoir behind the O'Shaughnessy Dam deep within Yosemite National Park across Priest Grade and power the turbines here at Moccasin. The California Department of Fish and Game.operates a large fish hatchery here. |
