Bowling Ball Beach

Bowling Ball Beach is located just north of Schooner Gulch and is locally famous for an unusal rock formation of rounded bolders that emerges from the Pacific Ocean only at low tide. Locals see the bolders as bowling balls and the underlying rock strata as the bowling ball lane. The beach is a great place to run your dog, or fly a kite, or build a sand castle, or go beach combing. The pelicans find the fishing good and gulls use the beach to raise their young. The best advice is to check your tide table and find a really low tide for ideal conditions.
