Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge - Summer

Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge is located 65 miles northeast of Lakeview, Oregon off Highway 140. It consists of 278,000 acres of very diverse high desert habitat and is considered to be one of the largest wildlife refuges in the Western States that is free of domestic livestock. The Fish and Wildlife Service that manages the refuge lists over 300 species of wildlife that can be found there, including pronghorn antelope, California bighorn sheep and golden eagles.
