Tillamook Air Museum

The Tillamook Air Museum is housed in "Hangar B" on the outskirts of the town of Tillamook. Hangar B was constructed in 1943 as part of Naval Air Station Tillamook. It was home to Squadron ZP-33 with a compliment of eight United States Navy blimps that were used for coastal patrol and convoy escort duty during World War II. The K ships were 251 feet long and were filled with 425,000 cubic feet of helium. They had a range of 2,000 miles and could stay aloft for up to three days. Naval Air Station Tillamook was decomissioned in 1948.

Today the Tillamook Air Museum is home to a spectacular collection of privately owned vintage air craft, most of which date from World War II. Many of the aircraft are in flyable condition. The museum also has material and exhibits related to the era of lighter-than-air flight.
