Cintonia (Clintonia andrewsiana) is also known as Blue Bead Lily, Clinton's Lily, Corn Lily, and Cow's Tongue. A yellow relative is also known as Yellow Beadlily, Yellow Bluebeadlily. It belongs to the Lilies Family (Liliaceae). It is commonly found in moist areas on the forest floor. It blooms in Spring and the blooms are followed by bright blue berries later in the year. It reproduces by seed and vegetatively by rhizomes. The berries are mildly poisonous to humans. It can be found throughout North America. The plant was named after DeWitt Clinton (1769-1828), an early naturalist and New York governor.
