Jerome |
|||||
The land beneath Jerome is rich in minerals. Native Americans collected colorful stones for jewlery in prehistoric times. From 1876 until 1953 "King Copper" held sway and the town grew in importance. During its peak 15,000 people called it home. Today it is a registered National Historic Landmark. A small business community caters to tourists with lodging, restaurants, art galleries, and novelty shops. |
