Tumacacori National Historical Park

Tumacacori National Historical Park is located on Interstate Highway 19 45 miles south of Tucson. The Tumacacori Mission was founded in 1691 by Father Eusebio Francisco Kino. It was one of the first missions established on the northern frontier of New Spain. In 1752, following attacks by Pima Indians, Presidio Tubac was established to provide protection for the mission.
