Phoenix - Desert Botanical Garden - Winter
The Desert Botanical Garden is located at 1201 North Galvin Parkway on the eastern edge of Phoenix City. It was established in 1939 and was the first such garden to focus enitrely on desert plants. Today, it boasts 50,000 succulent and cactus plants thriving on 145 acres of land. Trails meander through the garden and give visitors unfettered access to a wonderful array of desert flora. The garden is a mecca for wild birds and small desert animals. Docents are available to answer questions and lead informative tours.
