Dos Cabezas Ghost Town |
||||||
A stage depot was constructed at Dos Cabezas (two heads) sometime in the 1870s in order to take advantage of Ewell Spring located there. Travelers stopped in Dos Cabezas for water after crossing Apache Pass. In 1878 a small town was founded in support of some gold and silver mining in the Dos Cabezas Mountians, but the town faded away over the years and finally lost its post office in 1960. Today a few families live in the area, but there are no services. Dos Cabezas is located on Arizona Highway 186 a few miles south of Wilcox, Arizona. |
