The Cochise Stronghold is the great Apache Chief's birth place and his refuge after making peace with the United States. His followers buried him in the stronghold but kept his grave site secret. This hike leads to a small spring he and his people used for eons before the coming of the Anglo-European. It is an important place that few people visit. |
