Fe's Bed and Breakfast is definitely the place to stay when you are traveling through the Tule Lake region. Bob & Fe Galeoto are delightful people and very knowledgeable about the area. Their small inn is reasonably priced, unpretentious, clean, comfortable, and ideally located to support a thorough exploration of the many nearby attractions. Bob regularly guides bird watching groups and can usually tell you exactly where you will find which birds and when. He is also a wealth of information about the extensive and somewhat confusing road system that extends through the farmlands and various wild life reserve lands into the Medicine Lake Volcano region and the Lava Beds National Monument.

During the day you don't usually see much of Fe. She is very hard at work behind the scenes doing the myriad of things that are necessary to keep the inn running smoothly. In the morning, however, she appears bright and early in the kitchen and prepares a hearty American breakfast for her guests. Her unfailing good nature and her consistently delicious meals make for a wonderful start for the day.

Tule Lake is one of my favorite destinations - in very large part because of its isolation from the madding crowd. At first glance, when driving through town, it does not look like much, but I've been often enough to discover some of the wonders of the high desert. I've also come to really like these two wonderful people who have been kind enough to help me learn about their fascinating corner of the world.
